FAU receives $1.4 million grant for Nurse Practitioners

Florida Atlantic University's Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing is playing a key role in ensuring that South Florida has an adequate workforce of NPs. The College has received a $1.4 million grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), for an evidence-based curriculum to prepare NPs to deliver relevant, culturally competent, and skilled primary care services for underserved populations in Broward County. FAU nursing students learn by working with VIM. Students are placed on site at VIM for a period of three years

STUART — The student experience at Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) Clinic is a wonderful learning opportunity. The hands-on involvement in the medical sector and the interaction with patients prepares students for their careers. The VIM Clinic has worked with numerous students who have moved on to promising careers. Florida Atlantic University has formed a solid relationship with VIM. Each year, nurse practitioner students from FAU come to VIM for their clinical rotations. [read more]

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University has received a ranking of No. 44 for its Doctor of Nursing (DNP) program and No. 45 for its Master of Science Nursing (MSN) program by the U.S. News & World Report 2018 Best Graduate Schools Guidebook.
